TENNIS legend Pat Cash has questioned why healthy athletes are getting vaccinated against coronavirus.
The Australian, 56, won five Grand Slam tournaments during his time on the tour, including an iconic Wimbledon crown in 1987.
But now Cash is the last person in the world tennis to sow doubt about vaccines to fight Covid 19.
World No. 1 Novak Djokovic has been outspoken with his disregard for social distancing rules and quarantine regulations.
While world number 3 Stefano Tsitsipas revealed himself before the US Open that he won’t get bitten unless it becomes mandatory to play.
And Cash thinks healthy athletes should wait to get a vaccine, because “we just don’t know” what long-term effects they might have.
Cash told TCW TV: “I just don’t want young, healthy athletes taking something that could harm them long term for no reason.
“We just don’t know.” Can’t we wait a year or two until all the information is available? And then make a decision.

“That was my position. Let’s wait and see what happens.
“More and more (tennis players) are getting vaccinated because they can’t do their job if they’re not vaccinated.
“They can’t plan tournaments, they can’t travel.
“I think it’s about 50 percent, it’s not 100 percent, and it’s slowly progressing up there.

“I know the winners and the finalists of the Grand Slam, I know that one of them has been vaccinated, but the others have not been.
“They see that they really don’t need to do it. We are all (taken hostage), talking about vaccine passports, about not being able to go to restaurants.
“I can’t do this, I can’t do that. Aren’t we all under pressure? Can we decide please?
