In what many are calling a failure for the league, the Eastern Conference defeated the Western Conference 211-186 in a largely non-competitive NBA All-Star Game on Sunday.
The game featured 168 attempts from the three-point line and only 3 fouls called… during the entire game.
Former Kentucky star Karl-Anthony Towns led all scorers with 50 points for the losing team. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander added 31 points. Devin Booker scored 15 for the West. Anthony Davis, seemingly disinterested, finished with 6.
“It’s like the Minnesota (Timberwolves) days. (Karl-Anthony Towns) got 40, they lost 20.”

For the Eastern Conference, Damian Lillard led the way with 39 points. Lillard also won the NBA 3-Point Contest on Saturday night.
Tyrese Maxey scored 10 points for the East. Bam Adebayo started the game, but only scored 3 points.
After the game, Stephen A. Smith said it was time to cut some parts of NBA All-Star Weekend:

After the game, Adam Silver, clearly disappointed, simply said, “And at the Eastern Conference All-Stars, you scored the most points.” Well… congratulations.
If nothing else, it was a great showcase weekend for the Kentucky men’s basketball program:
