Team USA continues its preparation for a fifth consecutive gold medal in men’s basketball ahead of the 2024 Olympics in Paris.
After five exhibition wins this summer, the team now heads to France ahead of Friday’s opening ceremony before the group stage begins.
On Monday, the United States beat Germany 92-88 at the O2 Arena in London with Lebron James James scored a game-high 20 points, including the final 11. The win comes after Saturday’s dramatic 101-100 win over South Sudan in London, in which James scored the decisive layup in the dying moments.
The U.S. team had already beaten Serbia and Australia in two games in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. Those results followed a victory over Canada in Las Vegas on July 10.
At the Olympics, the U.S. team will play three Group C matches in Lille: Sunday (Serbia), July 31 (South Sudan) and August 3 (Puerto Rico). The round of 16 will then move to Paris with the quarterfinals (August 6), semifinals (August 8) and gold medal match (August 10) at the Accor Arena.
