Steph and Wiggs start in Warriors’ game against Suns originally appeared on NBC Sports Bay Area
Steph Curry’s latest injury absence lasted just one game.
Curry is in the starting lineup Saturday against the Phoenix Suns at the Footprint Center after superstar guard missed Wednesday’s home defeat to the Oklahoma City Thunder with bilateral knee soreness.
Curry has missed four of the Warriors’ 18 games so far this season, but in 14 games he has been averaging 22.4 points on 47.5 percent shooting from the field and 44.4 from 3-point range.
Without Curry against the Thunder, the Warriors erased a huge deficit but I didn’t have the offensive firepower to climb the hill and achieve victory.
Andrew Wiggins also starts after being listed as questionable due to a right ankle impingement.
Jonathan Kuminga (illness) and Gary Payton II (right adductor tightness) were upgraded from probable to available in the NBA’s 4:30 p.m. PT injury report.
Suns guard Bradley Beal and center Jusuf Nurkic were ruled out of Saturday’s game.
As NBC Sports Bay Area’s Monte Poole writes, Draymond Green draw the main defensive mission against former Warriors star Kevin Durant.
The Warriors enter Saturday’s game on a three-game losing streak, so they could use a burst of vintage Curry to break the skid.
