Thrissur: A state-level ranking tournament, organized by the Kerala Tennis Association, will be held at Kinattingal Tennis Club in Puzhakkal near here from December 1 to 7.
The competition will take place in eight categories, including men’s singles and doubles, women’s singles and doubles, and U-18 men’s and women’s singles and doubles.
The tournament is organized in association with Thrissur Tennis Trust and Thrissur District Tennis Association.
Only permanent residents of Kerala are eligible to participate in the tournament which will be held in a knockout format. The matches will be played on three outdoor courts, including a clay surface, and three indoor courts. Some matches will be played under lights, organizers informed. Balls approved by the All India Tennis Association will be used for the tournament.
Matches will not take place in categories that do not attract at least eight entries.
Winners in the single category will receive a cash prize of up to Rs 14,000.
Those wishing to participate are asked to submit their applications by 5 p.m. on Tuesday, November 29. Registration formalities must be completed on Wednesday between 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m.
