North Port, Florida – The Atlanta Braves launcher, Spencer Strider, withdrew six and did not allow a basic runner of 2 2/3 innings during his first appearance in the grapefruit league since he underwent Tommy John surgery last year.
The only two Boston Red Sox strikers to avoid removing Starde were David Hamilton and Nick Sogard. Hamilton finished second to start the match. Sogard led the third round by hitting a pop foul for the third basic player Austin Riley.
Strider started only two games and went 0-0 with an MPM of 7.00 last year before closing for the rest of the season. This followed a season in 2023 during which he went 20-5 with an MPM of 3.86 and a 281 stick withdraws at the top of the major league in 186 2/3 innings.
He did the NL All-Star team and finished fourth in the Cy Young Award Prize in 2023.
Strider, 26, holds a record of 32-10 in career and 3.47 MPM with 495 stick withdrawals in 329 2/3 sleeves. He had only made 33 appearances in the major league when the brave signed it for a contract of $ 75 million over six years in October 2022.
