Sources: Bertāns invited to train for Warriors; no camp invites yet originally appeared on NBC Sports Bay Area

The Warriors remain looking for ways to improve their roster for the 2024-25 NBA season.

In the team’s final move, Golden State invited Davis Bertans to work for the team, sources told NBC Sports Bay Area’s Dalton Johnson, with one source referring to the veteran forward as a “good name to watch” as the Warriors look at several free agents for a potential invitation to a training camp. So far, according to Johnson, no invitation to the camp has been extended to Bertāns.

NBA Insider Marc Stein was the first to report The news came after an Instagram post from BSA Basketball CEO Arturs Kalnitis, who is Bertāns’ agent, said Bertāns will “prepare for the upcoming season with the (Golden State Warriors).” The agent also wished Bertāns the best of luck in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Nicknamed the “Latvian Laser” for his precision shooting abilities, Bertāns, 31, has played 43 total games in the 2023-24 season with the Oklahoma City Thunder And Charlotte HornetsHe’s shooting 39.6 percent from deep and enters his ninth NBA season looking for a roster spot — potentially with the Warriors, who could certainly use another scoring option.

Golden State to host training camp from October 1st in Hawaiiwhere they will play a pre-season match against the The Los Angeles Clippers.
