Michael Porter Jr., a player Denver Nuggetsmade a lot of noise online following his comments on the Ball in the Family podcast. Porter Jr. claimed he could have beaten WNBA players in eighth grade, based on his experience coaching with his sister’s team at the University of Missouri. Among these players was Sophie Cunninghamwho has now decided to respond to these comments.

Cunningham, who currently plays in the WNBAaddressed the issue on his podcast Show Me Something with West Wilson. Although she didn’t directly contradict Porter Jr., she expressed frustration with the persistence of this debate. “I don’t understand why this topic keeps coming up,” Cunningham remarked, noting that while she recognizes the physical differences, she is tired of it being used to demean WNBA players.

On his podcast, Cunningham spoke candidly about the differences between male and female athletes. She acknowledged that men who play at the highest level are generally stronger and bigger. “If you’re a professional athlete, you should be able to beat girls,” Cunningham said. However, his annoyance lies in how this argument is used to undervalue the talent of WNBA players.

Cunningham also emphasized the importance of physical development in young athletes. “I don’t want to be unrealistic or delusional. Men are just stronger, taller, more athletic. They’re built differently,” she explained. Although he agreed with the basis of Porter Jr.’s argument, Cunningham expressed irritation with the constant repetition of this topic.

Although Porter Jr. expressed his appreciation for the WNBAhis comments often spark controversy. Cunningham, known for not holding back, has criticized public figures in the past, including Tom Brady for cloning his dog. Her frankness and willingness to address controversial topics have made her an influential voice on and off the field.

Recently, Porter Jr. and Cunningham were at the center of dating rumors after Porter Jr. posted a photo with Cunningham on his Instagram Story. Although the post seemed to celebrate their shared hometown, the number 573 in the caption, which is the area code for Missouri, sparked speculation about their relationship.

Who is Sophie Cunningham?

Sophie Cunningham is a remarkable actor in the WNBAknown for her skills on the field and outspoken personality. She currently plays for the Phoenix Mercurywhere she proved to be a key player on the team. Fans recognize her for her aggressive style of play and her ability to get hot from the three-point line.
