Snuggerud proves that it is up to the NHL, with blues

ST. Louis – For the second time in 10 days, the Blues de Saint-Louis have implemented part of their future smack on the right, in the middle of an eliminatory race.

And a sequence of victories.

First of all, it was Dalibor Dvorsky, choice n ° 10 of the NHL recovery in 2023 making his debut in a 4-1 victory against the Nashville predators March 23.
Tuesday in a 2-1 extension victory against Detroit Red WingsIt was Jimmy Snuggerud, the choice n ° 23 in the 2022 draft who signed his three -year entry level contract on Fridayhad a training on Monday and was thrown directly into the fire, and appreciated each song.

“It was fun. So exciting,” said Snuggerud. “The ice was so energetic. Everything about the game, the return to the end, it was a great game.

“I felt like we took one there at the end, and it was fun to be part of.”

Snuggerud, who played 10:43 and was a minus-1, did not take into account Jordan Kyrou’s score in the last 30 seconds of regulation and by Cam Fowler in extension, seems to belong.

The 20 -year -old was not overwhelmed by jumping in the middle of a sequence of nine consecutive victories which turned into 10 with the dramatic victory.

Snuggerud had two shots on goal, one of which in the first period of the right circle trying to beat the goalkeeper of the Red Wings Cam Talbot on the short side, but it was created by his conscience in the neutral zone to overthrow a washer, push it in the area before recovering it for the occasion.

It was a subtle little game that turned into several games of the genre in which the attacker did what he was supposed to do in a team concept to work on the washer to create opportunities.

“You simulate what you think it will be and then you really go out and it’s a whole different level of hockey,” said Snuggerud. “It’s honestly fun to make this first game and see the pace. It was nice to win with the guys.”

Snuggerud played on a line with Oskar Sundqvist and Zack Bolduc, who finally overthrew spots with Jake Voisins.

“I thought he was really good," Said Montgomery. “I thought he had made smart games. I did not think that he complicated the game too much and he made games on First-Touch. He is a very good sign of a hockey player with a very good sense of hockey. I thought he had acquitted well in his first NHL match and I was very confident to put it in place on the cards.”

Snuggerud played 15 teams, which included 1:49 of power playing time. There was a gift in the game, but it’s okay, well considered.

“I think he did a very good job,” said Fowler. “Coming at this stage of the season, fresh out of the university, it is not an easy thing to do for anyone.

Montgomery was confident enough to use Snuggerud at the end of the match for one purpose, and had there had another change in the OT, guess who was going on the boards?

“I think that if we were going to make another change, it would be neighbors and the leap to pass,” said Montgomery. “(Snuggerud) made things happen. He led this wide washer and he came back and we just missed the Tap-In. It is not the only smart game he did, and I thought he was defensive.”

If the product of the University of Minnesota will integrate into the fabric of the way the blues want to play, small details imported. But they will want him to be his best, and it is an offensively threat.

“I thought he was good,” Kyrou said. “You could see his skills, speed and intelligence.

“His first match, obviously assaults and nerves come in. I’m just trying to let him enjoy this and let him experiment with this. ”

Snuggerud entered the skating rink Tuesday at the Enterprise Center for the first time, probably earlier than he had been since the four frosts will be played here from April 10 to 12 and wanted to be part of it with the University of Minnesota. But he had a taste of what hockey is professional and at a level where blues fans will come and appreciate him if he continues with the mentality of the way he attacked his first professional game.

“The first game was really fun, but they are also the most nervous,” said Snuggerud. “It was a nervous game, but it was fun to play with so many good players.

“I mean honestly, seeing Patrick Kane of the bench tonight was a fairly weird moment. Then I was buried by (Vladimir) Tarasenko in the first on the boards. I said to myself:” Very well, I have to enter it. “”

Enter in it, he did it.

“I just came to the ice,” Boldy “picked me up with” folds “. It was actually the first time that I have seen the ice rink, so it was really cool in this locker room and arriving here for pre-match things. The game begins and it’s just such a feeling.

“It’s energetic. (3m Arena at) Mariucci is a really fun skating rink (on the Minnesota campus), it’s really strong in there,” said Snuggerud. “Then come to this skating rink and there are more people and it is stronger. I thought that the energy in this skating rink was incredible. When we scored this goal, it was so strong here, then the prolonger winner was twice as strong. It is really fun to be here and to see that.”
