Evansville, ind. (AP) – The 18 points of Nakyel Shelton helped eastern Illinois to defeat the south of Indiana 63-54 Thursday evening.
Shelton also added five rebounds and three interceptions for the Panthers (9-19, 5-12 Ohio Valley Conference). Arsse Stapleton scored 17 points and added five rebounds and four interceptions. Zion Frustter went 5 out of 14 on the field (3 for 7 of the 3 -point beach) to finish with 13 points.
Damoni Harrison paved the way for Eagles Screaming (9-18, 4-13) with 20 points. Stephen Olowoniyi added 16 points and three blocks for southern Indiana. Ryan Hall finished with seven points. The loss was the consecutive seventh of the howling Eagles.

The two teams will play the next Saturday. The Eastern Illinois visits Morehead State and southern Indiana plays Siu Edwardsville at home.
