January played for fever for nine seasons and was an essential element of the Indiana championship race in 2012. She ranks second in the franchise with 250 games played and 909 assists, third in interceptions with 285 and fourth points with 2,244.

January played under White for several seasons, including White’s first passage as a fever chief coach in 2014-2015. The native of Spokane, Washington, was exchanged in Phoenix in 2018 and played two seasons there. During her stay with Phoenix, she was an assistant coach at Arizona State. January then moved to training, where she immediately obtained a white job with the sun. The two worked together in Connecticut in the 2023 and ’24 seasons, bringing the sun to the semi-final of the WNBA the two years.

Now White has brought back January to Indiana.

“I am delighted to welcome Briann January to Indiana. She is part of the fabric of the Indiana Fever franchise of her impact as a player and will continue to be a coach,” White said in a statement. “The example of tenacity, resilience, work ethics, communication style and basketball IQ will be an excellent resource for our players, our staff and our community. She is a winner, a young spirit of brilliant coaches and an incredible human being. I am very excited to continue our trainer trip together. ”

January is also assistant to the NBA Motor City cruise coach staff, based in Detroit. The cruise missed the Gague Gague qualifiers and ended its season on March 29, so January can now draw its attention to fever.
