The Sharks didn’t even finish second. They are tied for third with Nease at 12 out of 300.
But Ponte Vedra will still advance to the Region 1-3A tournament on Nov. 4 at Cypress Head Golf Club in Port Orange, based on its overall ranking on the FHSAA’s iWanamaker Index.

The teams remained tied after tallying scores at the par-4 fifth hole. The Barracudas then nipped the Toros by one stroke at the par-4 12th.th.
Tocoi Creek’s Ambrose Kinnare won the individual district title with a 4-under 68, topping Beachside’s. Jaspreet Kondal (70). Jonah Nacional of Beachside and DJ Walker of Tocoi Creek are tied for third with 71.
Easton Oliva and Cameron Reed both shot 73 to lead Ponte Vedra.
“Our guys are very proud of the way they played,” Beachside coach Chris Haffley said. “Ponte Vedra didn’t play their best, but we were solid throughout the lineup. Tocoi Creek also played very well. This should be a great tournament in the region.
Leapley said it was time for his players to put aside the risk of being third in district and focus their energies on the regional tournament, where they must finish in the top two to secure a spot in the state tournament. Class 3A status.
“Now they have to go out and work,” Leapley said. “It’s another opportunity for them, so let’s see if they can take advantage of it.”
