The Section 9 girls tennis championships will be played Tuesday and Wednesday, October 22-23 at the Goshen Sports Complex.
As usual, last week’s champions Orange County Interscholastic Athletic Association And Mid-Hudson Athletic League tournaments are placed on either side of the draw. The singles and doubles draws each feature 16 entries, with two rounds to be played on Tuesday and the semi-finals and finals on Wednesday.
Top entries from Middletown and Our Lady of Lourdes won the league titles last week. Middletown had singles champion Sasha Henesy and doubles winners Alexis Michael and Sandra Habwe. Lourdes had singles champion Tiffany Ren and doubles winners Elia Bonavoglia and Emma Beradis.
Other singles seeds include Vivienne Bucci of Newburgh; Isabel Luzzi of Red Hook; Ally Davis of Washingtonville; Katie Park in Spackenkill; Tiffany Mabnikoth-Sooksavath of Pine Bush; and Margo Ogden-Kosofsky of New Paltz.
