Rams coach Sean Mcvay defeated Thursday evening at the 49ers on himself for the call he spent during the last game of the match.
Mcvay called a race in the line in fourth and 1 on the 11 yards of the 49ers with 3:41 to do in overtime, and the 49ers were ready for this and stopped it without gain.
“Bad call. Bad call by me,” said Mcvay. “It was a bad decision of me there.”
Mcvay said he had not planned to kick a goal on the field to equalize the match.
“No. With hindsight, I would have liked to do it, but we came here to try to win the football match,” said Mcvay. “It was not even thought, but the selection of games was very poor. I’m sick right now because I put our players in a crappy place.”
Mcvay said that there were better games that he could have called and that he kicked for what he was going.
“My job is to try to put our players in successful situations,” said Mcvay. “It was not there.”
It was the call that ended the match, the 49ers holding to win 26-23.
