SB Nation Reacts Results: Will This Be Fred VanVleet’s Last Year as a Rocket?

Welcome to SB Nation Reacts, a survey of NBA fans. Throughout the year, we ask questions of the most connected fans Houston Rockets fans and admirers across the country. Register here to participate in weekly surveys sent by email.

This week’s question was about Houston’s best player last season, Fred VanVleet. The point guard made a huge difference for the offense, helping the Rockets climb out of the basement and reach a .500 record. He also has a huge contract.

The good news is that the team has some flexibility, as the final year of VanVleet’s $128 million contract, while worth $45 million, is only a team option. The Rockets can decide to pay him or move on to Amen Thompson or Reed Sheppard or even someone else.

We asked you if this would be FVV’s last year in H-town. Here’s what you said:

There you have it. Most of you think this is Fred’s last year with the Rockets. I agree, though keeping him in town as part of a less expensive restructuring is also an interesting option.

Thanks for voting. We’ll be back soon!
