If history is a guide, the NFL is on the right track to extend its regular season to 18 games but Commissioner Roger Goodell said on Monday that nothing is imminent and that the league will be very deliberate to make this decision.

During his annual NFL state press conference, Goodell said he had informal conversations on the subject with Lloyd Howell Jr., Executive Director of the NFL Players Assn., But there is “many work to do ”.

Before the 2021 season, the League added a 17th match and reduced the pre-season of four games to three. Goodell has increased the possibility of possibly adding an 18th regular season game and spending two pre-season games.

“We know fans love football and they want more football,” he said. “But we must be incredibly sensitive and intelligent with balance and how we manage this.”

Goodell also kept the notion of having a franchise beyond American borders.

“I think there is potential that one day, we will have an international franchise,” he said. “We like that, being here in New Orleans, it is a great thing for the Saints of New Orleans … To have the attention of the world. I think the same would be true for an international franchise. »»

With an unorthodox calendar and endless media obligations, Super Bowl week even challenges the most disciplined teams.

Now add the midnight sounds of the trumpets.

Stay two houses in rue Bourbon, the Chiefs of Kansas City Fight the media distractions and the lively nightlife in New Orleans while continuing their third consecutive victory for the Super Bowl.

The Trent McDuffie Coin Half said that the central location of the hotel challenged the players to stick to their routines and stay in their rooms while jazz music is released late in the night.

Last year, the chiefs stayed 45 minutes from the strip in Las Vegas. The distance helped players repel all of Sin City’s distractions on their way to their victory over the 49ers of San Francisco.

The biggest advantage of New Orleans, which welcomes its 11th Super Bowl, is food, said McDuffie. In a city known for its culinary traditions and signature dishes, former Bellflower St. John Bosco High Star has surprised a crowd of media members when he reported that his favorite meal until now was Shawarma.

THE Philadelphia Eagles are in the Super Bowl for the second time in three years, and once again, they face the chefs.

In the Super Bowl LVII at the State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, the quarter-Arrière of chefs Patrick Mahomes designed a late journey for a winning basket and a 38-35 victory.

Eagles coach Nick Sirianni and his players said he learned from this experience.

“I will not enter into the things that have been changed thanks to the daily organization of a week of the Super Bowl,” said Sirianni, “but there are things that we do a little different to try to S ‘ Improve our last experience. “
