Former Italy manager Roberto Mancini clarified rumors linking him with a move to Rome a few weeks ago.
The former Manchester City boss was reportedly Roma’s top candidate to succeed Ivan Juric ahead of Claudio Ranieri’s appointment.
However, Mancini dismissed this idea in a recent interview with The Giornale.
“I was never contacted by Roma,” Mancini said. “No one called me.”
“I was happy to read that many Roma fans would have been happy with my arrival and many Lazio fans would have been upset.”
“If there had been the conditions for a good project to move forward together, I would have said yes. »
