Notre Dame Football There has been a Mr. Jekyll and Dr. Hyde situation over the last two weeks.

The Irish struggles led to a Home upset against Northern Illinois last week, but on Saturday they righted the ship and beat Purdue away 66-7The contrast between the Blue and Gold’s performances was stark, leaving many wondering what exactly happened last weekend.

Starting quarterback Riley Leonard gave his best explanation for the difference after the big win over the Boilermakers, saying he had a hard time handling that success. He showed maturity by saying “you can’t go too high, you can’t go too low” after a performance like that.

The confidence that head coach Marcus Freeman and his teammates instilled in him during the week “reinvigorated me,” Leonard said. He wanted to prove himself one more time against Purdue.

It is safe to say that this was accomplished for him and for Notre Dame on Saturday.
