Inter Milan boss Simone Inzaghi continued his verbal war with Napoli counterpart Antonio Conte following Monday’s win over Lazio.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport via FCInterNewsInzaghi’s post-match outburst was aimed at the former Nerazzurri manager.
“A lot of people couldn’t wait for us to stumble,” Inzaghi said after overseeing a 6-0 rout at the Olympic Stadium.
It was a telling response from the Scudetto title holders after a last-minute heartbreak in the UEFA Champions League last midweek.
Indeed, Inter collapsed to a late 1-0 defeat to Bayer Leverkusen, prompting Conte’s provocative claims.
However, Inzaghi’s accusations wasted no time in silencing their critics.

Inter delivered a dominant display against Lazio to underline their title credentials.
In doing so, they gave Inzaghi enough ammunition to strike back at his predecessor.
With Inter and Napoli likely to battle for the Scudetto this season, that psychological boost could be crucial.
Despite a home defeat to Lazio last weekend, Conte’s men remain firmly in the title race.
Only one point separates them from second-placed Inter, although the Nerazzurri have a game in hand.
However, Inzaghi’s lads have seemingly taken over after some seesawing form in the first couple of months.
They thus consolidated their status as favorites in a fiercely contested title battle.
