PSG goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma would like to join Inter Milan.
According to today’s print edition of Turin newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNewsthe 25-year-old might even be willing to take a pay cut to do so.
In recent days, high-profile transfer rumors have emerged between Inter and Donnarumma.
The Italy international would certainly be a major transfer coup for the Nerazzurri.
But there is some logic to this potential decision. Inter’s current first-choice goalkeeper Yann Sommer is 36, while Josep Martinez has yet to establish himself as a guaranteed successor.
However, according to Tuttosport, it is not Inter who are really pushing for this decision.
According to the newspaper, Donnarumma himself wants a return to Serie A. And Inter is the main club he has in mind.
PSG goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma wants move to Inter
According to Tuttosport, Donnarumma is not currently satisfied with his situation in Paris.
The 25-year-old does not have an ideal relationship with PSG coach Luis Enrique.
Donnarumm is therefore looking for a change of scenery, the Italian elite being a natural destination.
Then, Donnarumma’s contractual situation could play a role.
As things stand, the former AC Milan goalkeeper is under contract with PSG until the end of June 2026.
Therefore, this summer could present the final opportunities for the Parisians to cash in if they wish to avoid losing him the same way they signed him, on a free transfer.
PSG would still like a fee of around 30 million euros for Donnarumma.
On the other hand, the Italy international could also end up leaving for nothing in 2026. Inter’s propensity for signing free transfers is certainly no secret.
The question of Donnarumma’s salary would be important for Inter. The 25-year-old earns 9-10 million euros net per season at PSG, plus 3 million euros in bonuses.
This is well outside Inter’s salary structure.
However, Tuttosport reports, the 25-year-old has indicated he would be willing to take a pay cut in order to join Inter.
