Michigan tops list for former Georgia commit
2027 three-star wide receiver Gavin Honore is in the middle of a three-day unofficial visit to Michigan, March 17-19. This is the first-ever trip to Ann Arbor for the 5-foot-10, 180-pounder who plays football at Bishop Gorman High School in Las Vegas.
Honoré was previously committed to Georgia, but has opened things up again and now has Michigan at the top of his list, as he revealed in a recent interview ahead of his visit.
“Michigan is at the top because I have a good relationship with coach (Micah) Simon,” Honoré said. Rivals’ Chad Simmons ($). “I also watched Michigan football growing up, so I know what it’s about as a program. It’s also one of the schools recruiting me the hardest.”

One of the things on Honoré’s agenda in Ann Arbor this week is planning his official visit. This seems like pretty good news considering he’s currently in the middle of his visit and already thinking about planning his next trip.
“The most important thing is just establishing a good relationship with the coaches and finding out what program suits me best with my style of play,” he said.
Honoré plans to make his final commitment this summer after taking official visits.
SEC engagement is currently visiting
According to On3Ethan McDowell ($), the Wolverines welcomed the 2027 four-star tight end Colt Lumpris for a visit yesterday for Michigan’s first spring practice of the year. The 6-foot-6.5, 230-pounder from New Jersey has been committed to Alabama since December, but is clearly receptive to other schools considering he was just in Ann Arbor and has other visits planned.

Lumpris had an offer from Michigan’s previous team, but was offered again last month by new tight ends coach Freddie Whittingham.
“Michigan has shown interest in building relationships and I understand the value of building relationships,” Lumpris said.
Lumpris has official visits planned with Penn State and Texas A&M, and he said he wants to schedule one with Michigan as well. If everything went well during his visit this week, it would not be surprising to see him again in June.
We will follow him closely and work to inform you more about how his visit goes.
