Real Madrid appear to be set for significant changes to their squad next summer, with holes in various areas of the pitch appearing, not helped by injuries. One of the positions that will likely be affected is left back.

If the Canadian doesn’t sign for Los Blancos, then Miguel Gutierrez would be one of the best options to return to the Santiago Bernabeu. MARYLAND say that on Saturday during their clash against Girona, Real Madrid spotted Gutierrez as a potential recruit.
Los Blancos have a 50% sell-on clause in Gutierrez’s contract, as well as an €8 million buyout clause, making the 22-year-old a cheap alternative on the left side. It appears that Real Madrid are not particularly linked to Ferland Mendy or Fran Garcia, with the latter likely to leave next summer. Gutierrez has arguably been the most consistent of the trio over the past 19 months.
