Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Zay Flowers will not play this weekend joker game against the Pittsburgh Steelers after injuring his knee in Week 18.
“He’ll start again next week and we’ll move forward with the guys we have,” Ravens head coach John Harbaugh said. THURSDAY. “We’re excited about the guys we have, which is everyone else.”
The flowers are out Saturday’s match against the Cleveland Browns after suffering a tough loss in a catch-and-run. The 24-year-old receiver immediately grabbed his right knee and was in visible pain.
He was escorted to the medical tent with a pronounced limp, then made his way to the locker room.
The Ravens initially announced Flowers as he is doubtful to return with a knee injurybut then downgraded its status to out.
On Monday, Harbaugh said the knee injury Flowers suffered was not season-ending and that the receiver was considered “day to day.”
Flowers, in his second NFL season, finished with 1,047 receiving yards and four touchdowns for the AFC North Division champions. This production earned him his first career Pro Bowl selection.
“(Flowers) has been a big part of what we do,” Ravens offensive coordinator Todd Monken said Wednesday. “He’s a great player, but we have a lot of really good players, so it’ll be split if he’s not able to go. I hope he can go, but I can’t wait to see the other guys play if he can’t go that’s not the case.”
If the Ravens beat the Steelers and advance to the divisional round, they will play again on January 18 or 19.
