Rashid Shaheed spurred the Seahawks’ victory Thursday night with a 58-yard punt return touchdown in the fourth quarter, and afterward said the entire punt return unit was confident before the game about what it could do against the Rams.
“With our off-field position, we knew we were going to be able to get a comeback,” Shaheed said. “We were focused on that left back all week. We knew they had a weak spot with their special teams.”

Shaheed arrived in Seattle in November, when the Seahawks traded him for fourth- and fifth-round picks to the Saints. Shaheed said he immediately recognized that this team was special.
“The trust within this team is incredible. I feel like that’s how we’re able to accomplish all these incredible things,” Shaheed said.
In a season where the NFL has seen several big moves at the trade deadline, Shaheed’s arrival in Seattle could prove to make the biggest difference in the playoff race. He made one of the biggest plays in one of the biggest games of the year.
