Stoops said he had taken the medication to help him stay awake while driving. He recognized that he had no exemption from therapeutic use, which is required of players who take Adderall and other prescription drugs which appear on the list of prohibited substances.

Several NFL players have been suspended for having taken Adderall, which is a trade name against a stimulant used to treat hyperactivity disorder of attention deficit and narcolepsy.
Stoops said he appreciated the way Rams dealt with the issue.
“When I contacted the Rams, they were only supporting and superb on this subject,” said Stoops. “They had my back in all ways and that means the world for me. So, I’m excited to have that behind me now and go ahead and put my best foot forward. ”
The son of the former Oklahoma head coach, Bob Stoops, Drake Stoops was generally not considered a prospect of the NFL during his six seasons at Oklahoma, but he did the RAM training team last year as a non-recovered recruit and spent the whole season with the team. The suspension is a setback but will not prevent him from fighting for a place in alignment this year – from the third week.
