After a great afternoon last weekend at Daytona, NASCAR weather is once again a hot topic ahead of Sunday’s Pala Casino 400 (3:30 p.m. ET, FOX) at Auto Club Speedway.
Rain and snow, yes snow, wiped out all on-track activity Saturday, including Cup Series practice, qualifying and the XFINITY Series race. So, what does the latest NASCAR weather forecast for Auto Club have in store for Sunday?
We’ll take a look.
Weather Forecast for NASCAR
According to the National Weather Service, the updated NASCAR weather forecast for Auto Club Speedway shows a 20 percent chance of rain falling in Fontana, Calif., Sunday afternoon.
Although it will be cloudy and cool with a high temperature of 48 degrees, the weather should, at the very least, be relatively dry today.
In the event rain forces NASCAR to delay the Pala Casino 400, Auto Club Speedway is equipped with lights, so it is possible to push back the race to allow the track to dry.
The Cup Series will certainly take priority on Sunday, but Saturday’s postponed XFINITY Series race is also expected to go green at 8 p.m. ET, which could certainly factor into any decision NASCAR makes.
And for those wondering, Sunday’s Cup Series race will be official at the halfway point, meaning after 100 of the scheduled 200 laps have been completed.
According to Live NASCAR oddsKyle Larson is the favorite for the Pala Casino 400 at +650 odds, followed by Hendrick Motorsports teammate Chase Elliott (+700), Denny Hamlin (+800), Kyle Busch (+950) and Ryan Blaney (+1000) has FanDuel Sports Betting.
