THE Giants saw a familiar face return to action during Wednesday’s quarterback practice Jaxson Dart participate in a contactless practice.
Dart’s return to the field signifies the next step in the NFL’s concussion protocol for the rookie, as he previously stretched out with the team last Friday after suffering a concussion in Week 10 against the Chicago Bears.

Of course, Dart missed New York’s Week 11 matchup against the Green Bay Packers in which James Winston I took off. However, Dart’s return to practice indicates he is likely to play in a road game Sunday against the Detroit Lions.
In fact, interim head coach Mike Kafka told reporters earlier this week that Dart would start if cleared by an independent neurological consultant before the game. If not, Winston will once again assume the starting role.
The running back was also in action on Wednesday Eric Gray after the Giants opened his 21-day practice window.
Out since the start of the season due to a knee injury, Gray would add depth to New York’s running department when he returns with the team down. Cam Skattebo And Tyrone Tracy having missed time with a shoulder injury this season.

Along with Tracy, the only other Giants running back on the roster is Devin Singletary who scored twice against the Packers for his first two touchdowns of the season.
Gray, a third-year player drafted by Oklahoma in the fifth round in 2023, has totaled 79 yards on 31 attempts in limited action for New York during his career. However, he showed promise in the passing game totaling 104 yards on 16 receptions over two years.
