THE Calgary flames (22-16-7) are back at the Saddledome, welcoming the Sabers of Buffalo (18-24-5) for their only home match of the week.

During the first meeting of the year, November 9, the Sabers won a 3-2 dam fire victory At Keybank Center when JJ Peterka marked the winner in the second round.

The flames have a 5-5-0 file in their last ten games, with won a 3-1 victory Last Saturday against the Winnipeg jets. Meanwhile, the sabers (4-5-1) have just overthrew the Vancouver 3-2 cannucks on Tuesday and have a 1-1-0 file so far during their road trip in the west.

Between the pipes

Dustin Loup is back to the purpose of the Flames, making his seventh departure in the last nine games. It has a 4-2-0 sheet in January and 16-7-2 this season.

Until now in his young career, Wolf has only faced the sabers once, losing 4-1 on March 24, 2024, Buffalo marking two goals in an empty net to ensure victory.

At home, Wolf has a 11-2-1 file this season and 17-6-1 in total in his career, thanks to a GAA of 2.28 and an SV of 0.924.

In relation: the flames call the captain of the Wranglers

His counterpart will be Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen THURSDAY. The 25-year-old enters the competition with a 15-14-4 file this season in 34 games.

This evening will mark the fourth time that Luukkonen will play against Calgary, seeking to improve his 2-1-0 file. In these competitions, he compiled a GAA of 3.25 and an SV of 0.899.

In addition, it has an 8-4-2 sheet on the road this season, with much better statistics, 2.64 GAA and .915 SV% than in home.

Conversation starters

  • Rory Kerins is about to make his debut at the Saddledome with the Flames. Always producing an average of points per game with four assists in four games, the 22 -year -old is still looking for his first NHL goal. Could it happen on Thursday?

  • Earlier in the afternoon, the Flames announced that Calgary’s Wranglers captain Clark Bishop had been recalled and that he would be aligned for his first NHL match since February 15, 2022. Can re-emergence arouse the last six?

  • The name of Nazem Kadri is a very targeted commercial article on social networks. It is a little in bad shape at the moment with no point on four consecutive games, thus equaling a summit of the season. With 15 points at the Saddledome this season, can it get out of it and feed on the energy of Calgary’s faithful?

Where are they now?
