Tottenham are already reportedly looking for a potential replacement for embattled manager Ange Postecoglou, with a candidate from the Premier League said to be impressive.
According to a report from Football Transfers, Spurs are ready to make the decision to appoint the Ipswich Town boss. Kieran McKenna replacing Postecoglou.
It’s been a difficult start to the season for Tottenham, who have had some superb moments with 3-0 and 4-0 wins at Old Trafford and the Etihad Stadium respectively, while also dropping plenty of points in matches where they should have. does better.
Most recently, Postecoglou’s side suffered a disappointing defeat at Bournemouth, then squandered a 2-0 lead to lose 4-3 at home to Chelsea.
Unsurprisingly, this appears to have put Postecoglou under enormous pressure, so could McKenna be drawn into trying to turn things around?
Kieran McKenna linked to Tottenham after interest from Man United and Chelsea
McKenna has done a hugely impressive job during his time at Ipswich, and he was already attracting interest from big clubs over the summer.
Both Manchester United and Chelsea eyed the 38-year-oldwho was also part of the Man Utd coaching staff.
Tottenham could now do well to pounce on McKenna, although it remains to be seen whether he will be keen to leave Portman Road midway through the season.
Ipswich will certainly be hoping they can hold on to the Northern Irish tactician after the superb job he did in getting them back to the Premier League in the first place.
It would be difficult for them to recover if their highly regarded manager left, although it also seems fairly inevitable that he will be in the running for bigger jobs at some point in the not-too-distant future.
