Serbian draft prospect Nikola Topic has a partially torn ACL, his agent says ESPN’s Jonathan Givony Wednesday.
The point guard is considered a potential top-10 pick in this month’s NBA draft.
Topic first injured his knee in January before aggravating the problem during an April playoff game with his team, Red Star Belgrade.
The 18-year-old will now travel to the United States to be examined by NBA team doctors. His medical report will be sent to all franchises that will select from the top 15 players in the draft.
Viewed as a potential starter with excellent pass-catching vision and overall feel in a jumbo 6-foot-7 frame, Topic was once ranked No. 4 on ESPN’s big board before his injury caused his value to drop.
