It was quite a sight for a man walking his dog near a golf course in England.
According to a Facebook post from Northenden Golf Club, an 18-hole course near Manchester, England, a frozen Porsche Taycan was found on the course covered in debris after “the River Mersey overflowed and caused widespread flooding,” according to an article in the Manchester Evening News“with more than 400 people rescued on boats from their homes and a nearby hotel.”
The sticker price for the base model of this vehicle is just under $100,000.
Russell Miller told Manchester Evening News:
“We have a dog, and he’s just a puppy, and I took him for a walk this morning. There are trees blocking the road. I went down the river towards West Didsbury. We kept walking and I climbed up the bank and looked out over the golf course, and the whole place was like a lake,” he said. Russell then spotted the Porsche, the car having been covered in ice after the freezing temperatures overnight. It was covered in debris. “It had been dragged across the course by the floods. The floods must have swept it away halfway down the fairway.”
As for the golf course, it opened in 1913 and currently measures 6,460 meters.
“Located in the Mersey Valley and surrounded by the River Mersey, Northenden offers a tricky but enjoyable test of golf in tranquil and picturesque surroundings,” explains the the golf course website reads. “Visitors are welcomed very warmly and we are sure you will enjoy our course.”
The area is now waiting for the waters to recede and the cleanup to begin.
