GLENDALE, Arizona − Penn State football will go to Orange Bowl for the first time in almost 20 years.
He will play a playoff game in South Florida for the first time since the game coached by Michael Robinson. Nittany Lions came within one game of an undefeated season in 2005.
This team was unable to finish higher than third place after its overtime victory against Florida State. These Lions, now 13-2, are still in the running for a national title.
Penn State fans can finally return to watch their Lions in the College Football Playoff semifinals against the winner of Notre Dame-Georgia, which plays on New Year’s Eve. PSU is one of the final four teams remaining in the playoffs newly expanded playoffs after their 31-14 victory against intimidation Tuesday night against Boise State in the Fiesta Bowl.
The CFP Orange Bowl semi-final will be played on January 9 (7:30 p.m., ESPN).

The other three CFP quarterfinal games will be played on New Year’s Day at the Peach Bowl (winner No. 4 Arizona State vs. Texas/Clemson, 1 p.m.), at the Rose Bowl (winner No. 1 Arizona Oregon vs. Ohio State/Tennessee, 5 p.m.) and the Sugar Bowl (No. 2 Georgia vs. Notre Dame, 8:45 p.m.).
The semifinals will be played on January 9 at the Orange Bowl (Fiesta Bowl winner vs. Sugar Bowl winner, 7:30 p.m.) and January 10 at the Cotton Bowl (Peach Bowl winner vs. Rose Bowl winner, 7:30 p.m.). p.m.).
The national championship game will be played at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta on January 20 at 7:30 p.m.
