Jessica Pegula won her second seasonal title with the victory at the WTA Open Charleston (Matthew Stockman)
Jessica Pegula took advantage of a dramatic collapse of Sofia Kenin to win her second title of the season with a 6-3, 7-5 victory in the open WTA Charleston final on Sunday.
After abandoning the opening set, Kenin seemed ready to force a decision maker after having broken the service of Pegula three times to run in advance of 5-1 in the second set.

But the United States Undo-evaluated US composure took place in a sea of uns forked error, allowing Pegula to win six consecutive games to win his second victory from the year after his victory at the Atx Open at Austin last month.
The 31-year-old PEGULA showed a great character to save three section points in the eighth game of the second before claiming a breakdown of service to reduce the deficit to 5-3.
She then took into account 5-4 and obtained another service break at the level.
A solid rock service – sealed with an ace – left Pegula 6-5, with Kenin at a loss to stop the momentum of his compatriot.
She quickly ran into an advance of 0-30 and when Kenin hit a lazy lawyer, she received three match points.
Kenin never seems to make things happen and she quickly doubled for the victory in Pegula.
