A familiar face will join head coach Mike Vrabel’s ranks in 2026.
Longtime NFL assistant Charles London has accepted a position on the New England Patriots coaching staff, according to a report released Thursday by Chad Graff of The Athletic.

While his official title at Foxborough is still to be determined, London is expected to work on the offensive side of the ball. The 50-year-old had served as quarterbacks coach and passing game coordinator during the doubleheader AP NFL Coach of the Year‘s Tennessee Titans returning in 2023.
From there, London spent 2024 as the quarterbacks coach for the Seattle Seahawks and most recently served in the same role for the New York Jets. The parties parted ways in January as part of a 3-14 organizational overhaul.
A former running back at Duke, London, he began his coaching career at his alma mater before making the jump to the NFL with the Chicago Bears as offensive quality control coach from 2007 to 2009. He then worked as a professional scout for the Philadelphia Eagles in 2010 and first headed to Nashville as an offensive assistant and quality control coach in 2011.
London went on to supervise the running backs and also served as recruiting coordinator at Penn State before following current Boston College head coach Bill O’Brien to the Houston Texans. Overlapping Vrabel along the way, who moved from linebackers coach to defensive coordinator from 2014 to 2017, London would later become Chicago’s running backs coach for three campaigns.
And before returning to the AFC South in 2023, he spent two campaigns as quarterbacks coach for the Atlanta Falcons.
The new league year opens next Wednesday at 4 p.m. ET.
