Crystal Palace understands what is at stake when they face Aston Villa in a crucial Super League for Women’s match on Sunday, said manager Leif Smerud.
The hosts sit at four points below villa at the bottom of the table in what could prove to be a decisive game.
“It is an excellent opportunity to close and we know of course what type of game is so we are looking forward to,” said Smerud.
“We want to fill the gap. This is probably a must. This is my goal. We know that we have to compete.
“There are still many games, but everyone can read the table and understand what the game means. It is a must and it is important.”
