Two heavyweights from the sports influencer world have come together, with Paige Spiranac joining the Cavinder Twins on their weekly podcast.
Golf glamor girl Spiranac spoke with famous college basketball players on the latest edition of Twin Talk.
Haley and Hanna, 22, have been seen by some as following the path blazed by Spiranac in combining the worlds of sports and social media to huge success.
Spiranac, 31, spoke with the twins about a range of topics, from her online profile to the changing landscape of the golf world.
But the first topic discussed was social networks and Spiranac spoke about the criticism she sometimes receives for her golf outfits.
“There was a time when I wore a full turtleneck, leggings, I was completely covered from head to toe and people were unhappy with my outfit,” she said.
“I’ve always dressed a certain way, and I think that comes from my background in gymnastics, where I’m very comfortable in almost nothing.”
“Where you wear a leotard, that’s pretty much it, so I’ve always felt comfortable in tight clothing and that’s how I feel confident and that’s what I likes to wear.”
As their discussion progressed, Spiranac was asked which celebrity she had the most fun playing with.
“I don’t want to offend anyone,” she laughed. “I would say Miles Teller was the most fun – he had the best attitude about golf.
“Sometimes professional athletes who play golf are very competitive and passionate about what they do. They’re so fiery, that’s what makes them so good and what they do, but you don’t want to say or do the wrong thing.
“Miles Teller with golf – he would hit a bad shot and not care about it. Most people don’t do it because golf can be very frustrating. I love playing with people who have this carefree attitude.
As for the pending merger between LIV Golf and the PGA Tour, Spiranac said she believes it will help improve the overall reputation of golf across the world.
“There was a lot of controversy,” Sprianac said. Golf needs to progress, it still has a stifling mentality. It doesn’t have the same reach as basketball.
“You can see it with the biggest names in the game and how they translate on social media. You have Steph Curry, Lebron James, they have so many followers.
“And then, look at the PGA Tour: I am the most followed golfer! That doesn’t count! We need new demographics in the game.
“Overall it’s going to be really positive, but it’s still so early that I don’t know what the PGA Tour is going to look like next year. They’ve been very secretive.
