Othello -The Tennis team of Othello Huskies was able to win on the whole against the Quincy Jacks on Saturday morning, with the girls of 3-2 and the boys 4-1.

“My daughters at the moment, they are all very strong, so they are all playing well,” said the coach of the girls of Huskies, Priscilla Tovar. “Tennis is such a head game, so (they) keep a positive attitude and just go out and finish.”

The girls were able to win the three double games, going 6-1, 6-3 in the first and 6-0, 6-2 in the second. Their third double match became tighter, the results being 6-3, 3-6, 6-3. The Huskies girl team is also currently undefeated for the season.

“Our double movement is great,” said Priscilla Tovar. “They had an excellent queue and (were (were) to stick to the basics, ensuring that they eliminate errors.”

Priscilla Tovar said that the first double team, Launa Malotte and Rylan Jones, had exceptionally well made the match on Saturday and was impressive since they joined the team.

“I am really proud of them; They went from the third double to the first doubles and they just killed him, “she said. “This season, they were very strong.”

The boys’ team was a similar success during the day, losing only their first single and unbeaten double match. Their second simple was close, the final score being 4-6, 6-1, 6-4, the first double being 6-0, 6-2, the second was 7-5, 6-4 and the third being 6-0, 6-0.

The coach of the boys of Huskies, Caleb Tovar, said that their success came from the ability of the boys to read the court and to be placed as a result of the match.

“They did what was asked, what we practice, and it showed in the match,” said Caleb Tovar.

Caleb Tovar said that last year, many of their players have graduated and even more will graduate this year, so they spend time working on other guys and building towards the future.

“Traditionally, we don’t really condition a lot of tennis and we have somehow implemented at least one day a week,” said Caleb Tovar. “We are going to amplify this and continue this song just because I think it does them well.”

The Huskies girls team will work on similar improvements, continuing to perfect their skills on their understanding of the game and work on the double movement. The great thing for girls will be to make sure they are working on their mental game, said Priscilla Tovar.

“I have a really strong female team, so I’m just excited to see them grow,” said Priscilla Tovar.
