Uniforms are a popular topic of discussion among college football fans. For decades, teams essentially had a home uniform and an away uniform. But about 15 years ago, Oregon broke the mold.
While some teams, like Texas and Alabama, still have only the two basic uniform combinations, most programs offer at least a third jersey option. Several teams with classic looks have begun to branch out into multiple combinations, like Michigan and Ohio State.

Uniform options really go back to the Oregon Ducks. Thanks to their close ties to Nike, the Ducks have made non-traditional uniforms their own tradition. Oregon has hundreds of combinations and hasn’t repeated a single one since 2010. Fans are especially excited to see the debut of the new 2024 “Generation O” combo.

That’s why Ducks fans might be disappointed with the launch version of EA College Football 25. For its first NCAA football game in a decade, EA has added a lot of extras to the game, including uniform options.
Fans can choose from a variety of uniform combinations for each team. But EA only included five per team at launch. For the Oregon Ducks, that’s just scratching the surface. Only five of Oregon’s 2023 uniform combinations are in the game.

The lack of options has become a hot topic among some fans. So much so that an article about the options turned into an impromptu Q&A with Scott Anderson, Oregon’s senior associate director of video.

The only things in the game at launch are the ones worn last year (minus throwbacks). And to your other question, I’m not sure if any old uniforms are added. I don’t think any teams have old ones in the game.

The good news is that, according to Anderson, there will be future updates that will include more options like “Generation O.”

That’s right. So last year’s uniforms will be in the game at launch, and then Gen O’s will come to the game via regular updates from EA as they’re released. So Oregon will ultimately have two full varsity uniforms in the game, while the other schools will likely only have one.
