Malibu, California – Michael Rataj scored 25 points and caught 12 rebounds, and Parsa Fallah Adding 24 points, to lead the Oregon State male basketball team to an 84-78 victory against Pepperdine Thursday evening at Firestone Fieldhouse.
The Beavers (19-9, 9-6 WCC) went to 7-0 all time against the waves and finished the scan of the season which included a victory of 83-63 on January 23 at the Gill Coliseum.
Led 38-37 at halftime, the Oregon State was released in the second period, overlapping waves 15-5 to take an advantage of 53-42. Pepperdine reduced the deficit to 68-65 before Josiah Lake II pierced a pointer at 3 and Liutauras Lelevicius made a rider for a comfortable margin and a key victory on the road to the conference.
The Beavers drew 60.7% (17 out of 28) in the second period and 50% (31 out of 62) in the match.
Fallah scored more than 20 points for the fifth time this season, while Rataj posted his ninth double-double this season and 13th in his state career in Oregon.
Rataj (25) and Fallah (24) combined for 49 of the 84 points of the Beavers.
Lelevicius scored nine points on the bench and Isaiah Sy overturned two triple and a pair of free throws to finish with eight points. It is the fifth consecutive game that Sy has made several 3 points. Damarco Minor had seven best assists in a team.
