Former Dominion Freight Line
Continuing its partnership with the league and MLB teams across the country, Old Dominion Freight Line, along with fans and players, celebrated the start of a new season during the traditional spring training sendoff known as the name Moving Day, according to a press release.
The LTL company has once again partnered with the New York Mets, Los Angeles Angels and Kansas City Royals for Moving Day and the 2018 season.
Old Dominion Ranks No. 11 on the List of Top 100 Transportation Topics of the largest for-hire carriers in North America.
At the Mets’ farewell event, the team hosted an invitation-only behind-the-scenes experience with tours of the stadium’s clubhouse, a hot chat with general manager Sandy Alderson, appearances by former player infielder Edgardo Alfonzo as well as Mr. Met and Mrs. Met, interactive games and souvenir raffle. Old Dominion moved the New York Mets to Port St. Lucie, Florida for spring training on February 1.

Angels pitcher Tyler Skaggs and former pitchers Jim Abbott and Angels Hall of Famer Chuck Finley signed autographs throughout the day.
“Moving Day marks the launch of the 2018 season,” said David Carter, vice president of marketing and communications at Old Dominion. “We are excited to once again participate in the festivities and help our partner MLB teams transition into spring training. As the Official Freight Carrier of MLB, we share the values of hard work, pursuit of excellence and rigorous performance. OD’s promise of premium service is the only way to start the new season.
