The National Register of Historic Places is the nation’s official list of historic places worthy of preservation. Authorized by the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966, the National Park Service’s National Register of Historic Places is part of a national program to coordinate and support public and private efforts to identify, evaluate and protect historic and archaeological records of America.

Farm No. 266, also known as the Johnny Cash Boyhood Home, is a five-room New Deal-era farmhouse built by the Federal Emergency Relief Administration (FERA) as part of the Dyess Resettlement Colony in Mississippi County, Arkansas. The Johnny Cash Boyhood Home has a direct connection to the plight of Arkansas farmers during the Great Depression, the federal government’s efforts during the New Deal era to help these farmers, as well as the early musical influences of Johnny Cash, winner of numerous music awards. industry awards; member of the Country Music Hall of Fame, Gospel Music Hall of Fame, Memphis Music Hall of Fame, Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame, Rockabilly Hall of Fame, and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame; recipient of the National Medal of Arts; and the Kennedy Center Honors. Maritime Cultural Landscape Symposium:
We are pleased to announce the availability of Proceedings of the Maritime Cultural Landscape Symposiumheld in Madison, Wisconsin in November 2015. It was a collaboration between the National Park Service, NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, BOEM (Bureau of Ocean Energy Management), and Wisconsin Historical Society. Volume 1 presents the articles that were presented and Volume 2 contains links to the videos of the presentations.
