Parents often scold their children when they dream of something unconventional. The older generation often doesn’t understand the unconventional ways their children aspire to. However, this was not the case for the Japanese baseball superhero. His parents were linked to the world of sports, even baseball.

Ohtani’s father, Toru, was a baseball player who had played at a semi-professional level. However, a shoulder injury later forced him to abandon the sport. Even his mother had a strong sporting background. She was a member of the national badminton team. So, Shotime has a love for sports as a genetic trait.
