Iowa State men’s basketball secured an early commitment — and its first — to the 2027 class on Thursday, when North Scott small forward Josiah Harrington committed to the Cyclones.
The 6-foot-5, 170-pound sophomore chose Iowa State over offers from Iowa, Illinois, Northern Illinois and Oklahoma.
Harrington averaged 13.3 points per game – tied for a team high – in his first season at North Scott. He shot 55.1% from the field and 46.5% on 3-point attempts. He added three rebounds and one assist per game.
The Register spoke with Harrington over the summer after seeing an increase in his recruiting stock following a successful AAU basketball season. He shared that he still has a lot of room to grow.
“My jump shot has come a long way,” Harrington said. “I need to improve my volume, that’s my main goal right now. And I need to get stronger, put on weight, because I think it will help my game a lot.”
TJ Otzelberger and company were among the last to offer the North Scott sophomore on September 1, 2024.
