Fort Myers, Florida – Freshly out of his first Cy Young prize, Chris Sale opened his training in the spring with two perfect sleeves for the Braves of Atlanta on Saturday.
Atlanta lost against the Twins of Minnesota 3-1, but the 35-year-old sale withdrew his six strikers, although he did not hit anyone.
The sale begins its second year with the Braves. The left-hander went 18-3 with an MPM of 2.38 and 225 stick withdrawals last season, winning the triple crown of the National League and the Cy Young. It was in fairly good health to make 29 departures, the largest since 2017.
The sale launched 21 locations and 14 strikes on Saturday.
