The most recent NBA season has seen impressive performances by several members of the 2024 draft class.
Stephon Castle de San Antonio won the recruit of the year, and a handful of first -year players have transformed striking campaigns for their teams. The choice of second round Ajay Mitchell even won the first quarter of minutes in the NBA final for Oklahoma City Thunder.
However, for two prospects that were chosen last June, the 2024-25 season did not go as planned. Nikola Topic and Daron Holmes II were both selections of the first round, but were forced to miss all last year with different injuries.
The subject has torn his LCA in the predraft process, and Holmes tore his Achilles during his early summer debut in July 2024. The two were sidelined in terms of their recruit seasons, and will now be in the running for recruits in 2025-26.
Topic, a 19 -year -old guardian from Serbia, joins a list of Thunder depths which is fresh out of an NBA title. The subject set up 10.8 points, 5.8 assists and 3.2 rebounds per game, pulling 33.3% on the field and 20.8% of the 3 -point range in six competitions.

The overall choice n ° 12 in class 2024, the subject was originally considered a potential choice among the first five before his knee injury. While the finishing capacity of the talented playmaker seemed rusty during the action of the summer league, the sense of the subsing pass was fully exposed.
If the 6 -foot 6 -inch goalkeeper can drop the shots regularly, he should be able to find a decent role on the bench for reigning champions, especially in a long regular season which could see the Thunder try to limit players like Alex Caruso.
Holmes, on the other hand, joined a team that was desperately more depth during its playoff race in 2025. The Nuggets took Oklahoma City to the edge of the second round, but in the end, the auxiliary players of the team could not produce enough to eliminate thunder.
Now Denver adds Cam Johnson, Bruce Brown and Holmes, and seems to be a much more formidable opponent. In his last season in Dayton, Holmes collected an average of 20.4 points, 8.5 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 2.1 blocks per game while pulling 54.4% on the field and 38.6% beyond the arc.

The 6 -foot 10 -inch 22 -year -old player raised on average 13 points, 9.5 rebounds, 1.8 assists and a flight while pulling 42.1% on a 3 -point range in four summer championship games this season, and seems to be a solid piece of rotation for nuggets as a recruit.
