Professional golf course is difficult.
It is even more when a player is in trouble and must compete in one of the most difficult courses in the world. Nick Dunlap discovered the hard way Thursday during the first round of the 2025 Masters.
Dunlap began his second appearance at the Augusta National Golf Club with a Bogey, and he only went down from there. The 21 -year -old, who won the PGA Tour twice last year, including the first victory of an amateur in 33 years at the American Express, stacked the Bogeys and the Doubles and signed for 18 against 90.
The highest score in the history of masters? Charlie Kunkle, who pulled 95 in 1956, although there was A higher. Dunlap’s second-nine 47 is twice from the second nine of the 49 tournament.
Dunlap is about to miss its fourth consecutive cut, and it will be its third score in the 80s in its last seven laps. The latest counting on Thursday? Seven bogeys, four doubles, a triple and six pars.
This is added to a forgetable round for Dunlap, which is still looking for its first cut made in a major. It was 0 out of 5 in the week, and it won’t change after Friday.
