The Buffalo Sabers continue to struggle mightily, as they lost to the Colorado Avalanche by a final score of 6-3 in their last game on November 13th. With this, the Sabers now have a five-game losing streak and are 5-8-4 on the season. They are also at the bottom of the Atlantic Division standings.

As the Sabers look to end their 14-year playoff drought, a start to the season like this is undoubtedly concerning. Time is running out for them to change seasons, but things are undoubtedly looking bleak right now.
Given the way this season is going for the Sabres, it’s very likely that teams are already keeping tabs on Buffalo’s star winger Alex Tuch. The pending unrestricted free agent (UFA) is exactly the kind of player suitors like to add, and he should generate plenty of interest if the Sabers don’t improve and he still doesn’t have a contract extension as the deadline approaches.
Even though the Sabers are off to a bad start to the year, that’s not the case for Tuch. In 17 games this season, the 2014 first-round pick has six goals, nine assists, 15 points and an even plus/minus rating. With that, he certainly contributes offensively for the Sabres.
It will be interesting to see what happens with the Sabers and Tuch, but interest in his services should be very high as the season progresses.
