Among the 20 NHL goalies who have played at least 15 games this season, Vancouver’s Thatcher Demko ranks third in save percentage (.924), while New Jersey’s Vitek Vanecek is last in the category (.879). With the defender Dougie Hamilton (torn pectoral muscle) indefinitely, New Jersey rookie Simon Némec (2nd pick in the 2022 NHL Draft) had two assists, including one on the power play, in his NHL debut against the San Jose Sharks on Friday.

Sabers defenseman Rasmus Dahlin is tied for eighth in the NHL in points (20 in 25 games) and has 13 shots on goal in his last three games. Detroit Defender Jake Walman had consecutive multi-point games (one goal, three assists).
Buffalo Forward Alex Tuch (lower body; out 7-10 days) will not play Tuesday, but high center Tage Thompson is expected to return after not playing since November 14. Thompson, before his injury, had 12 points (six goals, six assists) and 52 shots on goal (3.25 SOG per game) in 16 games this season following an NHL career. a record 94 points (47 goals, 47 assists) last season.
3. San Jose Sharks vs. New York Islanders (7:30 p.m. ET; MSGSN, NBCSCA)

The San Jose Sharks are 3-2-0 in their last five games, with one of the losses coming by a goal in their 6-5 loss to the New York Rangers on Sunday. The Sharks will play the fourth game of their six-game road trip when they visit the New York Islanders, who are 1-2-3 in their last six home games and have the fewest points at home (five) in the NHL since October 30. .
Before Mikael Granlund has 10 points (two goals, eight assists) in his last 10 games, leading the Sharks in that span since November 14. Matthew Barzal did not play Saturday in the Islanders’ 4-3 win over the Florida Panthers due to illness, but he has seven points (two goals, five assists) in his last two games and leads New York in terms of points (23 in 22 games). this season.
