NHL 25 Patch 1.3.0 adds PWHL and many fixes

NHL 25 Patch 1.3.0 is now available, introducing Professional Women’s Hockey League (PWHL) integration in several modes, including Play Now, PWHL Season Mode, Shootout, Online VS, World of CHEL (with uniforms), and Hockey Ultimate Team (with players, uniforms and logos).

This update marks the start of a multi-year partnership with the PWHL, bringing its teams and players to the NHL series. If you don’t see new content, make sure you’ve downloaded the latest listing update.

Patch 1.3.0 isn’t just for PWHL, it also delivers a variety of fixes across multiple modes including Franchise, World of CHEL, and HUT. The update also fixes issues with audio, cameras, animations and more. Check Check out the full patch notes below and share your feedback.

Gameplay

  • Fixed user goalkeepers being sent off for poor team play due to bonuses.
  • Improvements to AI forward checking

Gameplay Tuner Set

  • Reduced accuracy bonus for successfully executed skill-based one-timers

Game Modes

Creative Zone

  • Fixed an issue where the draft year could not be set to 2024 when creating a player.

General Franchise Mode

  • Increased frequency with which CPU teams attempt to sign free agents to fill out their NHL roster
  • Fixed an issue in Box Scores where a player’s goal total was reset each playoff round instead of showing the playoff total.
  • Fixed an issue where the user could see the opposing team’s players’ trade list with M-NTC trade lists.
  • Fixed an issue at the trade deadline where the user could initiate a conversation with a player on the opposing team regarding their clause leading to a game freeze.
  • Fixed an issue with the Signed, Recently Signed, and Accepted Offer filters in the Free Agency spreadsheet.
  • Added a processing delay for player card updating that occurs when hovering over another player in a spreadsheet and when editing rows.
  • HUB UI loading improvements

Contract negotiations and conversations in franchise mode

  • Added scheme fit and injury conversations for players
  • Added Scheme Fit conversation for trainers

Subject of adequacy to the diagram

Scheme adjustment conversations with players allow the user to match a player’s strategy preferences to the coach’s scheme for even strength lines or special teams. Players can only be persuaded to fit into lines equal to or above their role and potential. Successfully persuading a player will have an impact on his place on other lines and special teams.

With owner mode enabled, the user can also persuade a player to use the same preferences as a Star player on the team.

Scheme adjustment conversations with the head coach allow the user to match their AHL head coach’s strategies with those of the NHL club or vice versa, allowing for total unity within the organization.

New conversation topics are accessible in existing save files

  • Fixed an issue where a Coach’s coaching style could be updated when selecting a Season Goal.
  • Fixed an issue in the intro conversation with the coach where selecting a pre-season objective before a season objective did not allow the user to also select a season objective.
  • Fixed an issue where the user could re-request a player to add teams to their trade list in the same day.
  • Fixed an issue where the Quick Draw Superstar ability was awarded before the player completed the challenge.
  • Fixed an issue where the player portrait was not displaying in the Forsaken Player chat stream.

The world of CHEL

  • Fixed an issue where there were sometimes multiple screen wipes after a goal was scored
  • Fixed an issue where the post-match locker room would display different jersey previews for different players in the session.
  • Fixed a timing issue where the user could get stuck in the main menu when trying to access WoC Free Skate.
  • Fixed a timing issue where the game player could miss the sequence if the post-match was skipped
  • Updated Fischtown Penguins Away Jersey Sticker in Design Zone
  • Fixed an issue where a pulled goalie would not return after a delayed penalty shot in EASHL 3v3 Clubs.
  • Fixed an issue where the club stats widget overlapped strategies, preventing players from changing their strategy.
  • Fixed an issue where matchmaking settings were not visually updating WoC locker rooms for certain options.
  • Fixed an issue where Grudge matches would occur even when the option was disabled in Club Private matches.
  • Fixed an issue where matchmaking continually expires when users select a Skater and Goalie, with disabled walk-in entry to Clubs.
  • Fixed an issue where the penalty timer was missing on the score clock when the user skipped the penalty replay in EASHL 6v6.
  • Fixed an issue where if the user navigates to a different tab in the WoC HUB and then returns to the Playback tab, the highlighted selection will still return to Live Events.
  • Fixed a rare crash when the locker room leader tried to access the match strategies screen.
  • Fixed a rare crash on the jersey selection screen in EASHL 3v3 clubs after successfully matchmaking with another club.
  • Fixed an issue in NHL Arcade where goalies could move out of their crease during the moments after the goal, which could knock them out of the game.

Presentation

Animation

  • Fixed the upper body of the “Sudden Death” character during its inactive animation – the staff no longer clips into the jersey
  • Improved hand touches on the Stanley Cup during handoffs during the Stanley Cup Celebration

Audio

  • PA Announcer – Fixed an issue that caused the PA announcer to use incorrect gender pronouns.
  • Fixed an issue where each goal scored by a player was treated as their “first goal” when playing in the AHL.
  • Arcade – Fixed an issue where SFX fireworks were playing during the game intro.
  • Arcade – Changed volume levels of some bonuses
  • Fixed an issue with broken goal horn previews

Cameras

  • Fixed an issue where players would become invisible when browsing game releases.
  • Fixed an issue that caused one of the replay cameras to float behind the net 10 feet on the ice in front of the goalie.

Broadcast

  • Fixed an issue that prevented the goal player indicator from tracking the scorer when certain celebrations were triggered.
  • Group celebrations now have the correct level of emotion on late goals when the scoring team is more goals ahead than we expect the opponent to be able to score in the remaining time (the match is out of reach). This also applies to the scenario in which the scoring team loses with more goals than we predict they could score with time remaining. This logic is not used during playoffs or high intensity games (Stanley Cup Finals, tournament playoff games)
  • Fixed an issue where digital dashers continued to display the countdown when switching to continuous OT in EASHL Quickplay 3v3.
  • Arcade – Fixed an issue where players were sometimes missing from the post-match player list.

Ultimate Hockey Team

  • Fixed an issue with retrying HUT Moments that was not sending users directly to the opening faceoff.
  • Added additional details to the XP path to display the XP needed per level.

Art

Players

  • Update from several NHL coaches
  • Hair Style 51 no longer plays through headsets during replays
  • Vaughn Velocity V11 goalie guard text no longer appears low resolution/blurry.
  • Updated portraits and action shots in the X-Factor Superstar screen for Linus Ullmark and Steven Stamkos.

Environments

  • Fixed an issue where Färjestad BK jerseys were being worn by the crowd during all SHL team games.
  • Fixed an issue where beard highlights would no longer display correctly at the end of the NIS period.

Stability

  • Fixed a crash when saving changes to a female character in World of CHEL and Be a Pro
  • Fixed a crash that sometimes occurred when switching between color options or when selecting the Apply Team Color button.
  • Fixed crash when changing Tertiary logo in design zone
