NHL 23 patch 1.4 is program will arrive tomorrow, December 13 at 1:00 p.m. ET, adding more retro inverted uniforms as well as numerous fixes and tweaks across multiple modes. A smaller patch has been released last week solve VOIP problems.
UPDATE: (12-13) The fix is available now.
There are only a few gameplay-related fixes, but many issues are fixed in World of Chel, custom leagues, franchise mode, presentation and more.

Gameplay
- Fixed an issue where Power Play strategies and Faceoff formations were not saved.
- Fixed an issue with puck movement during a lacrosse flip deke
Presentation
- Lighting – Fixed an issue that resulted in no in-game lighting when reconnecting a controller in the be a pro hub.
- Lighting – Fixed an issue where lighting would break before the game started.
- Be A Pro – Fixed an issue that could cause a crash when pressing the Pause button after a conversation with a Coach.
- Environment – The Farm – Fixed an issue with the game camera that could cause a low branch to appear in the camera trunk.
- Front Menu – Musical chyrons were not displayed for the first soundtrack song after returning from a game.
- Fixed an issue that could cause infinite sync during overtime online matches when a player left the game.
- Crowds – Removal of crowds from free skate and team practices at clubs and open houses
- Be A Pro – Fixed an issue that caused the pre-match speech to play twice when viewing an anthem intro.
- Cameras – Fixed an issue in Detroit where the camera could film the crowd during faceoff setup moments highlighting the AR leaderboard graphic.
Online modes
- Fixed an issue where opponents could see lines and strategies online against
- Fixed a software crash that would occur if the opponent left the penalty shootout in overtime during an online Versus match.
- Fixed an issue that prevented users from switching to the game in Threes Online Play if they invited a friend to play with them.
- (XBOX) Fixed an issue where some Xbox Gamerpics were not appearing in the social widget or locker rooms.
- Fixed an issue where NHL Threes Tour progression was lost when accessing NHL Threes Online.
Chel’s World
- Added additional content to World Of Chel for upcoming Chel Challenges. Come back often to collect the latest new and interesting content.
- Fixed an issue where users would automatically get locked out if they accepted an invitation when loading into World of Chel.
- Fixed a software crash that sometimes occurred after the first game of the NIS period in EASHL Drop-in and EASHL clubs.
- Fixed a software lockout that sometimes occurred when a user accepted multiple invitations to a dressing room in Chel’s World.
- Fixed a rare desync that occurred during the opening faceoff in EASHL Drop-in matches
- Fixed a rare crash that occurred when loading into Chel’s world.
- Fixed a rare crash that occurred when a player was checked in 3v3 EASHL matches.
- Fixed several button functionality issues for Club Strategies
- Fixed an issue where players would sometimes return to the World of Chel main menu when selecting to continue to Round 2 of One’s Eliminator.
- Fixed an issue where player hair was not appearing correctly during gameplay in World of Chel.
- Fixed an issue where there was a full crowd during freeskate and club practices in Chel’s World.
- Fixed an issue where if you went to Customize Club while in a friend’s locker room, your club customization would take on the look of the friend’s club.
Custom Leagues
- Added the ability to replace AHL teams in custom leagues
- Added a setting that allows the user to use the entire NHL player pool in a custom league fantasy draft, regardless of the number of teams in the league.
- Fixed an issue where the Stanley Cup Presentation was not playing when winning the Finals in cumulative format in Custom Leagues.
Franchise
- Added Retired Jersey Numbers setting to Custom Leagues
- Optimized line combinations defined by certain coaches to be less dependent on X-Factors
- Adjusted line chemistry on penalty lines to be less dependent on X-Factors
- Fixed an issue where some penalty lines were still showing -3 for line collective.
- Fixed an issue where promoting a Coach within the organization to Head Coach did not update the Strategies tab in Edit Lines.
- Fixed an issue where eligible CHL players were assigned to AHL instead of Junior.
- Fixed an issue where AHL scouts were not discovering a player’s pro scout rating in custom leagues.
- Fixed an issue where Home Ice Advantage was sometimes awarded to the wrong team during the playoffs.
- Fixed an issue where replacing teams in Season mode caused the game to softlock.
- Fixed an issue where row chemistry was not displaying a +2 modifier where applicable
Be a pro
- Fixed an issue where salary perks could not be activated due to insufficient subscribers.
